In 1950s, Pepsi was all about family values, cook-outs and picnics. Ahh~ The pleasant and good old 50s era...! :) 2)
Then in 1960, Pepsi brought it up a few notches by proposing that "The Sociables Prefer Pepsi". Maybe they're trying to say the anti-socials drink Coca-Cola? ;) 3)
Later on in 1965, it was cool to "Come Alive and Be Pepsi Generation". Hey, wait-a-minute... What happened to wholesome and laidback Pepsi values before...? :-l4)
Can't seem to find any ads for the 70s (Was Pepsi on a break?) Fast forward to the 1980s, Pepsi became artsy-fartsy pop-arty.5)
Then from the 1990s up til recently, Pepsi went all about entertainment: music videos, celebrities, football stars and movies. By the way, the ad above with David Hasselhoff... *Hello* David Hasselhoff for the Pepsi image....?? Didn't really fit in well right?

And finally in 2008, Pepsi unveiled its brand new logo and image! It took Pepsi 5 months to come up with this new logo. The logo is made to be "more dynamic and more alive". Pepsi would not discuss what it's paying for the revamp, but experts estimate the cost for a top firm to work five months on a logo is for $1 million. The real cost though, is in removing the old logo everywhere it appears and putting new material up. For a big brand like Pepsi, when you add up all the trucks, vending machines, stadium signage, point-of-sale materials and more around the world, it could easily tally several hundred million dollars.
The new logo is a white band in the middle of Pepsi's circle that loosely forms a series of smiles: A smile will characterize brand Pepsi, while a grin is used for Diet Pepsi and a laugh is used for Pepsi Max. The new logo is Pepsi's 11th in its 110-year history. Five logos have been introduced in the past 21 years, with the last update in 2002.

By the way, here's a history lesson in the Pepsi evolution in the form of a video. I *LOVE* this video by the way :) :
