Aww.... What a reminder from the World War II era... Food was such a commodity at that time, and such campaign is to curb food wastage.

In today's world of retail, manufacturing and globalization, it is inevitable that we have to deal with eating processed and most of the time "fake foods". To think about it, MOST of the foods we find in the supermarkets, (unless it is organic or free range) are not even "real" foods. Why? Because it has undergone so much processing, dressed with all sorts of chemicals to make it taste or look better, loaded with preservatives to make it stay on the shelves for months and years. Yes, the (nutritional and wholesome) quality of our foods has deteriorated very much from the days of our great grandparents.
Also, "fresh foods" from the grocers or markets might not be so natural after all. The cultivation and farming methods in agriculture has also changed drastically. What with the main reasons are to produce, produce and produce - how can we expect to get tender-loving -cared wholesome foods if the conditions do not permit it?
